“Although I’m originally from Ohio, I’ve spent most of my life in California in the Bay Area.  I lived in Alameda a short while, then San Francisco and then settled in Sausalito.  The weather here is a plus, since I can paint outside almost all year round.  And there are people from all over the world.  This appeals to me since I enjoy seeing Japanese films and watching flamenco dancing.  This area is so beautiful in its landscape, its light and its buildings.  I’ve tried to capture all that.  The inspiration is that even if you’ve painted the Lone Cypress or the Palace of Fine Arts before, it’s different every time and each creation is unique.”
